8. Children’s Privacy

YAHREQA is intended for a general audience and does not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13.

If you believe a minor has provided personal information, please contact us so we can remove it.

Programs for children

Some of our programs, such as the Atlas to Z book contests, are made for children 12 and younger. In those programs, only a parent or legal guardian may enter, and we collect information only from that parent: the parent's name and email address, and the child's first name, age and state. If the parent enters a part of the program that needs a photo, we also collect photos of the child's work (artwork, a story or a filled-in book page), which must not show faces, full names, school names or addresses, and we remove location and device data from every photo before it is stored.

We use this information only to run the program, check eligibility, send certificates and prizes, and meet our legal obligations. A child's artwork appears in a public gallery only when the parent enters a contest that is decided by public vote, and it is shown by entry number, age group and letter, never by name. Voting is open only to adults; we use a voter's email address only to confirm the vote and delete it within 30 days after that round's winners are confirmed, unless the voter separately signs up for our news.

We do not sell this information or use it for advertising. Pages we make for children do not load third-party advertising, analytics or social media scripts. Our prize payment provider, Tremendous, receives a winning parent's name and email address only to deliver the prize.

We delete program entries and the information that came with them within 12 months after a program ends, except records we must keep by law, such as prize and tax records, and anything a parent separately allowed in writing.

A parent may review, correct or delete their information or their child's information, or withdraw an entry, at any time by emailing hello@YAHREQA.com. If we learn that we collected personal information directly from a child under 13 without a parent, we delete it.

10. Text Messaging (SMS)

If you give us your mobile number and opt in to text messages (for example, by checking the SMS consent box when you book with us), we use your number only to send the messages you agreed to receive, such as appointment confirmations and reminders, replies to your inquiries, and updates about your YAHREQA! account or services. Reply STOP at any time to opt out, or HELP for help. Message and data rates may apply. Our Terms of Service include the full SMS program terms.

No mobile information will be shared with third parties/affiliates for marketing/promotional purposes. Information sharing to subcontractors in support services, such as customer service, is permitted. All other use case categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.

We may update this Privacy Policy as YAHREQA evolves.
